Special pages for birds

Saturday June 4 – Monday September 5, 2011

Imagine yourself doing a belly flop – from 10,000 feet. You’re falling at 190km/h, but it’s not fast enough. So point yourself straight down. Now tuck your head under your arm. Now you’re going 320km/h! That’s what it’s like being a peregrine falcon.

See falcons, hawks, eagles and more dynamic feathered acrobats this summer at the Vancouver Aquarium. From June 4 until September 5, experience Birds Up Close and be awed by these powerful creatures.

Join us for an unparalleled aerial show, happening daily overlooking our Wild Coast. You’ll be amazed by the flurry of colour and sound as birds dive and swoop above you in an incredible display of skill and agility. A collaboration between the Vancouver Aquarium and Pacific Northwest Raptors, this outdoor show features charismatic and peculiar birds including the bald eagle, Harris's hawk, peregrine falcon, turkey vulture and gyrfalcon – each with their own impressive abilities.

Explore the unique relationships between seas and sky through up close bird experiences and special educational programming.
